The posters on this page are just a small sampling of the variety of posters submitted in our "Percents in the Real World" project. The students filled the posters with examples of percent usage from sale ads, auto and home financing, credit cards, stock market reports, news stories and charts, sports statistics, crime rates, and many others. The overall response was, "I didn't realize before how much percents are used." Some of the students also became very aware why there is a difference in the size of printed percent figures in sale ads and the fine print of finance charges!
